3D transportable home configurator

A demo for transportable and modular home manufacturers, built for the Australian and New Zealand market. The same plan in several elevations, a verandah, a finish package and a price with delivery that the customer does not have to phone the sales team for.

Live demo · Australia and New Zealand

The price of the home with delivery, before the customer calls

Transportable homes sell from a catalogue, and the changes and the delivery get priced later, by hand. This configurator does that work up front. The customer picks one of three plans, tries it as Coastal, Homestead or Modern with one click, sets the roof, cladding, colours and verandah, chooses a finish package and sees the price with delivery.

The home stands on steel stumps on a rural block, with a gravel drive, gum trees and post-and-wire fencing. In the delivery step a truck waits on the drive with a section of the home on its trailer, in the cladding and colours the customer just chose. The demo runs on the Australian market: prices in AUD including GST, COLORBOND® colours and Australian conditions. New Zealand has its own chip on the scene: green paddocks, COLORSTEEL® colours and prices in NZD. A European manufacturer gets the same configurator with its own plans, price list and delivery zones.

The same plan in three elevations

Elevation is where a transportable home sells, so it gets its own step. One click on Coastal, Homestead or Modern changes the roof, cladding, wall and roof colours and verandah together, while the plan stays the same. Homestead brings a bullnose verandah and weatherboards, Coastal a straight verandah in light colours, and Modern a skillion roof with high-light windows and vertical cladding. From there the customer can change each element on its own.

Roof, cladding, verandah and finish

  • Roof: a 22.5° gable or a skillion, with corrugated sheeting, gutters and downpipes.
  • Cladding: weatherboard, vertical groove panels or corrugated steel, in COLORBOND® colours. Colours on screen are approximate, so check them against a physical sample before ordering.
  • Verandah: none, a straight front verandah, a bullnose verandah or a wrap-around, 2400 mm deep, with a hardwood deck and steps.
  • Finish package: Essentials with white window frames and open stumps, Comfort with dark frames and a batten skirt under the home, or Signature with a timber-look entry, wire balustrade and the full trim.

A delivery price without a phone call

Delivery is its own line. The customer picks the distance from the factory: up to 100 km, 250 km, 500 km or 800 km. The price covers set-down and the first 100 km, then adds a rate per kilometre that depends on the plan: one section or two. In the scene the truck moves further back along the drive as the distance grows, and a label shows the kilometres and the number of sections.

On long runs the configurator adds a short note: over 500 km, the route, pilot vehicles and permits decide the final delivery price, so it has to be confirmed with the factory. Site works, approvals and connections stay out of the demo price.

How we calculate the price

The indicative price updates with every choice, and the “How is it priced?” button opens every line with its maths, e.g. “78 m² × 2180 AUD”. The demo price table starts from a published 2026 figure for a one-bedroom prefab home delivered: about 80,000–120,000 AUD, typically 95,000 AUD. Larger plans are priced at the same rate per square metre. The finish package raises that rate, and the verandah is priced per square metre of roof. Delivery uses published house-removal rates: 45 AUD per kilometre for one section and 60 AUD for two. Prices include Australian GST.

The demo runs on a sample Australian price table. In a deployment the configurator calculates the price from your plans, packages, price list and delivery zones, in złoty, euros or the currency of the market you sell to.

New Zealand on the same configurator

The NZ chip keeps millimetres and moves to COLORSTEEL® colours, board and batten cladding, prices in NZD including GST and a greener block. The one- and two-bedroom plans stay within 70 m², so the configurator notes that they may qualify for the small home (granny flat) building consent exemption and lists the conditions: detached, single storey, 2 m from boundaries and other buildings, and a Project Information Memorandum (PIM) from the council before work starts. The three-bedroom plan is over 70 m², so the note says to expect a building consent. It is a guide, not a decision: the customer checks with their council.

What the home manufacturer gets

Every configuration has its own link that restores all choices, so the sales rep opens exactly what the customer set up. The summary lists the plan, size, elevation, roof, cladding, colours, verandah, finish and delivery, with the price line by line. In a deployment, configurations can go to your CRM with your own price list behind them. For a European manufacturer we put in local plans, colour palettes and regulations.

Frequently asked questions

Can the customer see the delivery cost before calling us?

Yes. Delivery is its own line in the price and changes with the distance from the factory and the number of sections. In a deployment we use your own delivery zones and rates.

Can we show our own plans?

Yes. The demo has three plans as parametric models. A deployment replaces them with your catalogue: floor areas, sections, elevations and packages.

Does the price include site works and approvals?

No. The demo price covers the home, verandah, finish package and delivery. Site works, approvals and connections are left out, as they usually are in a transportable home quote.

Are the prices in the demo real?

No. The demo uses a sample price table in Australian dollars including GST, built from published 2026 figures and a rate per square metre. In a deployment the configurator calculates the price from your own price list, in your currency as well.

How does the configurator handle the New Zealand consent exemption?

As a guide. Plans up to 70 m² show a note that they may qualify for the small home (granny flat) exemption, with the main conditions, and larger plans show a note about building consent. The customer checks with the council, and the configurator never gives a “yes” or “no”. For the Polish or another European market, local thresholds and regulations take their place.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The scene and the panel are designed for a phone first, because that is where most people will open the link from an ad.
