3D concealed door configurator

A demo for manufacturers and sellers of concealed doors. The customer sees the door flush with the wall of their room, opens it, looks into the room behind it and knows the price of the set straight away.

Live demo

A door you cannot see until it opens

In the configurator the wall stands between a room and a hidden space. The customer chooses the door type, size, opening direction, finish and hardware. With the “same as wall” colour the door disappears and only the gap remains.

The “Open” button swings the leaf on concealed hinges: up to 100° when it opens away from you, up to 88° when it opens towards you. The bookcase door reveals a desk and a coat rack in the room behind the wall.

What customers are looking for

Google suggestions for “drzwi ukryte” (concealed doors) are mostly brands, shops and “price with installation”. The second group is rooms and finishes: “for a walk-in wardrobe”, “for a pantry”, “without a handle”, “with slats”, “mirror”. The customer wants to see the door in their own interior and know the price with installation. The only 3D in the Polish sample we checked showed just the leaf on a grey background.

The best ideas on the market are scattered. Murphy Door shows the surcharge for every option, FritsJurgens matches the hardware to the size, Porta starts from the interior style, and Classen places the door in the customer's photo. None of these tools combines 3D, a room scene, opening and price. In Poland the phrase “drzwi regał” (bookcase door) leads mainly to IKEA Billy, i.e. to DIY conversions.

Door types in the demo

  • Flush, paintable: the leaf and the aluminium frame are painted together with the wall. Colour “same as wall” or white RAL 9003, sage, graphite and navy.
  • With mirror: a leaf prepared for a mirror up to 223 cm high, in silver, graphite or bronze.
  • With slats: the slat cladding continues as a band across the wall, on the same grid. The slats come in natural oak, walnut, black or white.
  • Bookcase door: shelves with books that swing with the leaf, in oak, walnut or lacquered white or black.

The demo has no pivot doors and no sliding doors that disappear into the wall. These are separate systems with different logic: a pivot door opens both ways, with no choice of left or right hand (Murator), and sliding doors retract into a pocket, e.g. Eclisse or Gustavson Estima.

Invisible frame systems

In the demo the leaf is 40 mm thick and sits in an aluminium frame set into the plaster, with no architraves. From the room you see only the gap, and a magnetic lock is standard, as in Polish systems. The parameters the rules depend on vary between manufacturers:

Sources: Porta Hide data sheet (PDF), Pol-Skone 2025 catalogue, erkado.pl, stoldrew.com, arlu.be. The minimum wall thickness depends on the system, so in a deployment we take it from the manufacturer's data.

Leaf size

The leaf width is set in the “60”–“100” series in 10 cm steps, and the height from 203 to 243 cm in 10 cm steps. This is the Pol-Skone 2025 size range: widths “60”, “70”, “80”, “90”, “100” and heights 2030, 2130, 2230, 2330 and 2430 mm. Dimension lines appear on the model. Pol-Skone Harmony shortens the leaf in 10 mm steps by up to 100 mm at no extra cost.

Opening direction

The customer chooses one of four variants: opening away or towards, with hinges on the left or right, as seen from the room. The “Open” button in this step swings the leaf, and the camera is set at an angle, so you can see which way the door goes. The direction decides which side is flush with the wall: always the side without hinges (Porta, Pol-Skone).

  • Opening away: non-rebated doors that open into the hidden room. Porta Hide opens them up to 180°.
  • Opening towards: reverse-rebate doors that open into the room. They open only up to 90°, which the configurator points out in a note.
  • Frame: for outward-opening doors it is 12 mm lower and narrower, i.e. by the rebate (Murator).
  • Left and right: in the DRE convention a door is left-handed when, looking from the hinge side, the hinges are on the left. In the demo we describe the direction in words, without abbreviations.

Tall doors up to the ceiling

A taller leaf means a higher price and more hinges. The demo prices the set by leaf height according to the Pol-Skone 2025 price list, and the number of hinges rises with height from 2 to 4 and is shown in the summary.

Leaf heightSet excl. VATSet incl. VATIncrease
2030 mmPLN 1,208PLN 1,485.84—
2130 mmPLN 1,515PLN 1,863.45+25%
2230 mmPLN 1,653PLN 2,033.19+37%
2330 mmPLN 1,817PLN 2,234.91+50%
2430 mmPLN 1,981PLN 2,436.63+64%

The set is the leaf and a raw aluminium frame, the sum of the items in the Pol-Skone 2025 catalogue. In the Invest Pro line the height surcharge is a percentage: from +10% at 2130 mm to +40% at 2430 mm. Other market reference points: drzwi365 sells 220 cm doors with 3 hinges from PLN 1,688, Stoldrew made-to-measure doors up to 240 cm for PLN 2,845.53–3,500 (stoldrew.com).

Mirror and slats on the leaf

Cladding changes the construction of the leaf. Pol-Skone prepares the leaf for a mirror or a 4 mm tile with a solid core and an extra hinge: 3 hinges for widths “60”–“80” and 4 for “90”–“100”. The maximum height of such a leaf is 2230 mm, with no drop-down seal. Cladding on one side only can warp a standard leaf, so Porta then recommends the reinforced version.

  • Weight limit: in Porta Hide a standard leaf with decoration weighs no more than 40 kg, and with a tubular chipboard core the permissible cladding weight falls with width: 20 kg at “60”, 10 kg at “80”, 0 kg at “100”. The reinforced version takes cladding of up to 30 kg and 18 mm, and a leaf of up to 60 kg.
  • In the demo: with a mirror or slats the price adds the preparation, the solid core and the extra hinge, and a note explains why. The configurator lowers taller mirror doors to 223 cm.
  • Slats on the wall: the slat band runs from floor to ceiling for 30 cm on each side of the leaf, so the door disappears into the cladding. The price counts the slats on the leaf and on the wall separately.
  • Cladding prices: there is no Polish price list for slatted concealed doors. By estimate, slats add about PLN 700–2,500 to the paintable version, so the rates per metre of mirror and slats in the demo are estimates.

Bookcase door

In the demo the bookcase door is a separate type. The bookcase is 21 cm deep, the shelves with books swing with the leaf, and behind them you see a study with a desk. It opens by pulling a shelf, so the panel hides the choice of handle, hinges, door closer and ventilation. A note reminds the customer that the shelves will hold about 181 kg of books at a width of up to 90 cm.

These figures come from the US market, because there is no series manufacturer in Poland. Murphy Door quotes shelves for up to 400 lbs (about 181 kg) at a width of up to 36", and the doors themselves weigh 57–68 kg. Murphy Door prices start at USD 1,440 for a paintable 24 × 80" bookcase and go up to USD 2,335 for 48 × 96" (murphydoor.com). InvisiDoor costs USD 1,348 in a 32" width and USD 1,458 in 36" (rockler.com). The bookcase price in the demo is an estimate from the report: PLN 6,000–15,000 incl. VAT with installation.

Opening and hardware

The hardware step has the camera on the hidden room side, because that is where the hinges and the door closer are visible. The “Open” button works here too, and in the summary.

  • Opening: a handle, a recessed pull or handle-free push-to-open. In the wall colour and without a handle the door shows only as a thin gap, which the configurator highlights in a note.
  • Concealed 3D hinges: raw as standard or in black, white or gold. Pol-Skone charges PLN 92.25 for a hinge in white, black or silver and PLN 116.85 for gold, incl. VAT, each.
  • Concealed door closer: Dormakaba ITS 96 (PLN 922.50 incl. VAT in the 2-4 version) or Geze Boxer (PLN 984), plus routing at PLN 98.40 (Pol-Skone 2025).
  • Ventilation: an undercut for a bathroom or laundry room, PLN 43.05 incl. VAT at Pol-Skone and PLN 149 at Stoldrew.
  • Lock: magnetic as standard, at no extra cost (Pol-Skone, Stoldrew).

Acoustics

Concealed doors do not have to be acoustic, but manufacturers have such versions. Pol-Skone Harmony with a solid core and a drop-down seal has Rw 27 dB, Invest Pro 37 dB, DRE offers a Silent 37 dB package in its Profi collection, and Eclisse an acoustic version of up to 33 dB. The demo has no acoustic option. In a deployment it can be another option with a surcharge from the manufacturer's price list.

Installation

The frame is installed at the plasterboard or plastering stage, before the floor layers, and the leaf is hung last, after painting (Porta, Murator). The exception is Arlu Invisidoor, which can be installed after plastering (arlu.be). Installing a concealed door costs PLN 309 on average, within a range of PLN 120–420 across 12 quotes, and takes from 40 minutes to 2 hours (cenauslug.pl, 2026). The demo adds installation to every set.

For the skirting board there are two options: a standard skirting on the leaf, cut at 55° on the hinge side, or a concealed skirting flush with the wall, which needs profiles at the finishing stage (Porta).

How the price is calculated in the demo

The same way as in the Pol-Skone price list: the leaf and frame set by height, a width surcharge, fixed surcharges for cladding preparation, solid core, hinges, door closer and undercut, cladding per square metre and installation per piece. The “How is it priced?” button expands the items with their calculation, e.g. the number of hinges times the hinge price. Bookcase doors have no series offer in Poland, so their price in the demo is an estimate. In the version for a manufacturer we plug in their price list.

What the manufacturer and seller get

The page address stores every choice, so the link opens exactly the door the customer set up. The summary collects the type and size, direction, room-side finish, opening method, number and colour of hinges, door closer and ventilation, plus the price with its items. The enquiry reaches the salesperson with this summary and the link, and the price list, colours and rules come from the manufacturer.

Classic interior doors with a price are shown in the door configurator, and windows in the 3D window configurator. You can work out an indicative implementation cost in the configurator cost estimator.

Frequently asked questions

How much do concealed doors cost?

A paintable set (leaf and aluminium frame) costs about PLN 1,490–1,690 incl. VAT in the Pol-Skone 2025 price list, and in shops from about PLN 1,000 (drzwi365.pl). Made-to-measure versions up to 240 cm cost PLN 2,850–3,500 (Stoldrew), installation PLN 309 on average (cenauslug.pl).

What is a non-rebated door?

A leaf without a rebate on its edges, which sits flush with the frame. For the same clear opening it is narrower and lower by the rebate. In Poland such doors are sold as a premium product with concealed hinges and a magnetic lock (classen.pl).

Should a concealed door open inwards or outwards?

Both versions exist. Non-rebated doors open outwards, reverse-rebate doors inwards, but only up to 90° (Porta, Pol-Skone). The choice depends on which side should be flush with the wall.

How thick does the wall need to be?

It depends on the system: Porta Hide min. 55 mm, Erkado Covert 53 mm in masonry and 75 mm in plasterboard, Arlu Invisidoor 70–80 mm (porta.com.pl, erkado.pl, arlu.be).

Can concealed doors reach the ceiling?

Yes. Up to 2430 mm from the catalogue (Pol-Skone), up to 240 cm made to measure (Stoldrew), and up to 4000 mm with the Arlu Invisidoor system (arlu.be). A tall leaf needs 3–4 hinges.

Do concealed doors reduce noise?

It depends on the version and the wall. Harmony with a solid core and a drop-down seal has Rw 27 dB, and Invest Pro 37 dB (Pol-Skone 2025). A standard paintable leaf is not an acoustic door.

How do you open a concealed door without a handle?

With a push-to-open or push-pull system, i.e. a lock that pushes the leaf out when pressed (Bertolotto, Ermetika), or with a recessed pull. The configurator shows both options next to the handle.

How much do interior pivot doors cost?

Solid ones PLN 5,000–7,000, glass ones PLN 9,700–13,000 (Murator). The Pol-Skone Galio Pivot costs PLN 6,763.77 incl. VAT (2025 catalogue). Pivot doors are not in this demo.
